product description
The TriSports.com SaferSwimmer™ SF-06 Float is specifically designed by the ISHOF to provide a safety aide for open water swimmers, serving three important functions without hindering performance or hindering your stroke:

  • Bright Orange makes it visible to boaters, jet skis, kite boarders or other potential human hazards while you are swimming.
  • Can be used as a floatation device in the case of panic, cramps, dizziness, or injury and it can also be used to rescue others.
  • Unique spacious pocket design let's you keep your "stuff' safe, dry and with you while swimming across rivers, lakes and/or in the ocean.

Made of Thermoplastic Polyurethane used in the manufacture of inflatable boats and white water rafts, providing superior durability. Strap extends to size 38. Extender strap available by ordering TRS13502.

Unlike running, when a swimmer suffers a stroke, heart attack or unconsciousness you sink and disappear below the water. As a recent incident at Christmas Lake in Minnesota demonstrated, when observers saw the SaferSwimmer™ Float not moving, it alerted them in time to revive and save the life a swimmer who other wise could have been added to the not insignificant number of open water swimmers who have drowned in recent years. Most notably, the great American open water swimmer, Fran Crippen.

I don't open water swim without it
    October 22, 2013
I always use this in open water swims since buying this in July 2013. I swim in a non-motorized lake but if you swim where boats and jet skis are, then they can quickly identify you with this float attached. People from shore can easily spot you (easier than if wearing a bright swim cap). It does not impede swimming. It's cavity fits my phone, car keys, wallet, clothes and towel. If you cramp up or panic in the water, then you could hang on to this as a flotation device and just kick back to shore.
    Pros:
Does Not Impede Swimming, High Visibility, Easy To Use, Inside Dry Storage
    Cons:
    Could Be Punctured
    Best Uses:
    Open water swimming
