Hammer Gel Jug - Hammer Gel has been the benchmark of concentrated carbohydrate energy, primarily because of what it doesn’t contain—Hammer Gel has no added refined, simple sugars and artificial colors or sweeteners.

Hammer Gel contains two sources of carbohydrates. The first one is a specific maltodextrin containing a unique saccharide profile that consists of an unusually large amount of pentasacharides, (5-sugar chain complex carbohydrate). This particular pentasaccharide has unique properties that allow for maximal conversion to energy. In addition, this maltodextrin is relatively low on the Dextrose Equivalent (DE) scale. The lower the DE, the quicker it will exit the GI tract and cross the stomach lining, allowing it to be more readily available for energy production. The maltodextrin used in Hammer Gel has a DE of 18, whereas sucrose (table sugar), a sweetener found in many sports gels and drinks, has a DE of 100. Hammer Gel is highly absorbable, and readily available for the demands of both endurance and strength events.
The other carbohydrate source is the patented natural sweetener Energy Smart, a combination of naturally occurring fruit based mono- and disaccharides plus specially developed medium and long chain dextrins derived from grain. The process of creating Energy Smart maintains the integrity of the fruit, grain dextrin enzymes, and naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. Energy Smart is NOT a simple sugar or an artificial sweetener. The unique biochemistry of Energy Smart raises blood glucose as fast as sucrose and faster than fructose.

Product Usage Instructions
The Obvious: Fill a Gel Flask, which will give you about 5-6 servings equaling 500-600 calories. Take the flask and a water bottle or two out and consume 1-2 servings per hour while you exercise.
Mixed with Water: Hammer Gel mixes very easily right in your water bottle and can replace any powdered energy drink mix. Mix 1-3 servings in a 20-24 ounce water bottle and consume as needed while you exercise.
Post Workout Recovery: It is a very wise idea to supplement with 50-100 grams of carbohydrates and 15-20+ grams of protein within 30-60 minutes of finishing a workout or event. Instead of using an over priced, sugar and artificial ingredient filled recovery drink mix, you can make your own. Use 2-3 servings of Hammer Gel with 1 scoop of Hammer Pro Whey or 2/3 of a scoop of Hammer Pro Soy. This will give you 48 to 92 grams of carbs and 18.5 to 21 grams of protein in an economical and great tasting post workout beverage.
