2009 Scott Addict LTD Carbon Road Bike

Scott Addict LTD Carbon Road Bike
In the past if you told someone there will be stock bikes at 13lbs. you may have been mocked. Well this lightweight dream, the Scott Addict Limited Road bike is at 13lbs. making it the lightest road bike on the market today. However this lightweight beauty still is extremely stiff giving maximum power transfer when putting the hammer down. In addition, the integrated seat mast offers one of the most comfortable and compliant rides out there, which is uncommon for high performance road bikes!
Light just got lighter: After setting the bar with the creation of the CR1 with its revolutionary carbon welding process resulting in the lightest production frame for the last five years, Scott has raised the bar and has produced something lighter, stiffer, and more comfortable: the Addict.
The Addict is a full fledged race bike that has been ridden to great success by the Pro Tour Team Saunier Duval. The new Integrated Molding Process technology, combined with proven CR1 technology and the use of high quality HMX NET carbon fiber, makes it possible to produce the world’s lightest frame, weighing just 790 grams. Setting a new lightweight record required a great deal of attention to detail. The cable stoppers, dropouts, and front derailleur mount are thus all made from carbon. Another great feature is the integrated seat mast that allows the frame to be lighter as well as giving you a better feel of the bike. The Addict carbon fork, also created using IMP technology, weighs 330 grams and is included in the 790 grams!
Addict differentiates itself from the CR1 range by having a more stretched out geometry, lower head tube height, stiffer head tube and bottom bracket, and a smoother ride thanks to the redesigned seat stays.
The Ride: Don’t let the 790 gram frame weight fool you, this is a proven performer. The addict is a top performer in nearly every category from climbing to descending. The stretched out lower position allows you to dive into turns and descend with confidence. The stiffer front end will let you sprint with the best. But most importantly, the Addict will keep you comfortable on your short or long rides. Ask Jure Robic who powered his Addict to victory in the solo division in the Race Across America!
