2009 Kuota KOM Road Bike

2009 Kuota KOM Road Bike:
To be King of the Mountains and ride in the Polka-dotted Jersey is something that the majority of us mortals will never experience. However Kuota's KOM or King of the Mountains road bike offers us the ride that will bring out the best climber in all of us. The Kuota KOM is the lightest, most performance focused frame Kuota has ever built. The Kuota KOM is a sub 900 gram frame using every bit of Kuota’s design expertise combined with the most sophisticated use of material and manufacturing technology. The most aggressive lab stress testing was followed by the most intense road testing Kuota have every done. In fact the KOM satisfies both Kuota’s extreme testing and UNI EN 14781 testing standards for durability and performance, which is hard feat to achieve. The KOM frame features a monocoque front triangle with differential lamination process including 3k4h high impact weave, Kuota’s Nanotech Carbon Fiber matrix, a greatly enhanced bottom bracket section, Kuota’s Super Drive (1-1/4") head tube and a shorter, stiffer 402mm reactive rear chain stays. No wonder it was the bike of choice for Team Agritubel in the Tour de France!
The Kuota KOM has two fundamental differences from the Kuota Kredo Ultra road bike. First, it features external cable routing, therefore not as aerodynamic. However this eliminated the need for eyelets for internal routing and saves weight while preserving the integrity of the frame. Second, the KOM does not have an integrated seat mast. This save additional frame weight. These two differences mean although the Kuota Kredo is the best all around bike the Kuota KOM is going to outperform the Kuota Kredo in the mountains or other areas where weight is the key factor.
Benefits over the Kuota Kebel:Kuota Nana technology increases the stiffness while dropping the weight considerably
3K4H high impact carbon fiber monocoque superlight frame construction - lightest production model Kuota has to offer
Additional Features: KOSM: Progressive dimensioning of tube sections lightens the frame considerably
HPT: Oversized bottom bracket molded into the frame structure increases stiffness
KSD: Oversized head tube offers great handling and stiffness in the front end
Frame weight: 870g for a XS size
Available in a frameset for $3399.95
